These coatings applied through vacuum deposition allow visible light to pass through while selectively blocking the infrared and ultraviolet radiation responsible for unwanted heat. The result is a natural conditioning of the space that drastically reduces the energy demand of heating and cooling systems, both in summer (less cooling) and in winter (less heating). The Solar Factor (g) indicates what percentage of total solar energy enters the interior: lower values on critical orientations reduce the thermal load in summer. The Ug Value (thermal transmittance of the glass) measures heat loss to the outside: the lower the value, the better the insulation.
